Getting
personal on Blogs
A blog is
a place where one can be as personal as they want. It is up to the reader if they want to leave
or continue reading. A business blog
should be more professional. If you are
not selling a life changing product, then you should not get too personal about
it. Only give the reader what you want
them to know personally about you, and focus more on your product.
There are
times when you can be personal. For
instance, if a product you are taking gives you noticeable results and you feel
better then a testimonial to that product is warranted. This is more or less a selling pitch for that
product.
It is
more likely your readers are interested in the same things you are, so get as
personal as your readers are. Match
their enthusiasm to your blog. I would
not get too personal such as giving important information about you on your
blog. Only show emotions and not give
personal information out.
I agree that you wouldn't want to give a lot of personal information on most business blogs but that is very different from showing personality on a blog. Personality is more about the way you are using language, what kinds of opinions are given and commentary made. I think that whether or not it is appropriate very much depends on the type of business and the audience.
ReplyDeleteHi there, I enjoyed your viewpoint and I agree. Use your personality to connect with your readers without giving them personal information. I also like that you mentioned keeping the blog professional, that's a good point when talking about adding personality!
ReplyDeleteHello, Matthew!
ReplyDeleteI am really agree with you. For the business blog, they should be more professional than other personal blogs because they have to care their customers. I also agree than not get too personal such as giving information of the blog. I enjoyed your post a lot. Have a good day!
